Dumpsters have many uses, however, in an effort to keep our NH environment clean and safe, and in accordance with Federal and State Agencies hazardous materials cannot be disposed of in dumpsters.
Hazardous waste includes highly flammable, explosive, infectious and toxic. The term "hazardous material" includes, and is not limited to, any waste characterized as hazardous waste by the United States Environmental Protection Agency or any state agency pursuant to the Resource Conservation & Recovery Act of 1976, as amended or applicable by law.
Examples include but are not limited to the following:
Ignitable – waste oils, gasoline and used solvents
Corrosive –acids and bases capable of corroding metal
Reactive –explosives and lithium-sulfur batteries
Toxic –materials containing mercury and lead
NO asbestos, motor oil, biohazardous Waste, Freon or lead painted materials.
